How buying works
Searching, comparing and quotes need nothing. To buy, your agent builds a cart, opens a checkout with your details, and completes it after you confirm the total.
Some merchants ask you to sign in with them first. Your agent shows you a sign-in link and a code, and carries on once you have signed in.
Completing a paid checkout needs a payment credential from your app: a Stripe Shared Payment Token, or a card entered in OpenMerchant’s secure card frame on a page your app hosts. Never type a card number into a chat.
Requests are rate-limited. When a limit is reached, the result says how many seconds to wait.
Try it in test mode
Add https://sandbox.openmerchant.dev/mcp instead to use the sandbox catalog in test mode.
